Gaming console systems such as Xbox and PlayStation are allowed to connect to the Northwest wired network.
Information Technology, whenever reasonably possible, works with students, faculty and staff who need a specific network port open for academic purposes. Most ports should be accessible and those that are not are typically not allowed. If you need a port open for educational reasons, contact the Northwest Technology Service Center.
Requests are granted depending on:
Personal, non-campus-issued, network entertainment devices such as Smart TVs, Apple TV, Google TV, Roku, Blu-ray/DVD players, Alexa and Chromecast are allowed on the campus wired and wireless networks. It is strongly recommended that these devices be used on the Northwest wired network for best speed and experience.
If you need wireless connection, you may use NWMSU_Secure or NWMSU_Personal; however, the Secure network is preferred and best to use when possible. See Personal Devices for details.
Northwest does not support or maintain personal, non-campus issued entertainment devices and does not guarantee that your personal entertainment device will successfully work on the campus network.
